Used as a work truck by my Father-in-law (Frank Chavez) in his landscaping business until\u00a0 the distributor gear broke, along with many other worn out parts. At that point he decided in 1991 to retire the truck with 100K ++ miles on it.\u00a0 Truck was moved to the back yard waiting for me to retire from the Navy.\u00a0 2012 after retirement from Navy, a 2 \u00bd year frame off restoration project began. I kept every original part I could salvage.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0All the sheet metal and drive train is original.\u00a0 I have restored a few other vehicles and by far this was the most challenging.\u00a0 Parts and knowledge base are hard to come by.\u00a0 Bud\u00a0Thorp\u00a0was my best source of parts and knowledge,\u00a0 If Bud didn\u2019t have the part he always knew where to get it.\u00a0 Without Bud\u2019s help this project would have taken me a lot longer to complete and I wouldn\u2019t have been able to keep the truck as original as I did.\u00a0 Thanks Bud.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nDenis
